MANKATO, Minn. — Winona State University announces the appointment of Dr. Brian Zeller to the position of dean of the College of Nursing and Health Science and dean of Graduate Studies, effective July 1.

Zeller previously served as chair of the Department of Health, Exercise & Rehabilitative Sciences (HERS) at Winona State and has held the following appointments: director of the Athletic Training Program (Undergraduate Professional Program); Graduate Professional Program; Athletic Training Program clinical coordinator; and co-head athletic trainer.

Zeller earned his doctor of philosophy in exercise science from the University of Kentucky, his master of science in physical education from Indiana State University and his bachelor of science in physical education from the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse. He began his employment with Winona State University in 2000.

“I am very excited to collaborate with such a dynamic group of faculty, staff and students across the College of Nursing and Health Sciences. We have outstanding academic programs that are focused on educating amazing health care, wellness and recreation professionals who will be our future leaders. Building these relationships and facilitating future growth will be incredibly rewarding,” said Zeller.

Zeller assumes leadership of the College of Nursing and Health Sciences from Julie Anderson, who served in the role of dean from 2018-24.
