Philly made changes to mail-in ballots ahead of 2024 election. Here's what you need to know.
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) — Election Day is 104 days away, and Pennsylvania officials are still changing mail-in ballots to ensure the process is smooth and secure. In a directive earlier this month, the commonwealth told counties to pre-print the entire year (2024) on the outer envelope, not just the 20, leaving voters to fill out only the month and the day. Voters will see that change in November.Thousands of mail-in ballots were rejected in 2020, but Philadelphia commissioners say they're more prepared this time around. They've opted to punch a hole in the outer envelope so officials can ensure the yellow secrecy...
Sixers "remain focused" on building arena in Philadelphia despite NJ's push
CAMDEN, N.J. (CBS) — New Jersey Gov. Phil Murphy confirmed Monday that state leaders are having a "serious conversation" with the Philadelphia 76ers to persuade the team to build its new stadium, 76 Place, in the Garden State.Murphy said the conversation came as the Sixers continue to face opposition to their proposed arena in Center City."So, we've been observing the lack of progress in Philadelphia, and we said you know what, we're going to raise this with them," Murphy said. "We're serious about it. They appear to be serious about it. We'll see. You never know where these things land."In a statement...

Eagles’ Jalen Hurts explains how collapse impacted relationship with Nick Sirianni
Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts seemed to know what the first question of his press conference would be about after Wednesday’s practice, the first one on the team’s training camp schedule. When the reporter began the first words of his question, he interrupted him and addressed the offseason reports about him and head coach Nick Sirianni not getting along.
Philadelphia Eagles training camp hats available now
Training Camps for most NFL teams begin this week, which means we're getting really close to Philadelphia Eagles football returning. The NFL's regular season will begin on September 5, which means we're less than 50 days away from football. Let's. Go. But, actually, there's plenty going on before we get...
Hurts, Sirianni say all is peaceful between QB and Coach at Eagles' training camp
PHILADELPHIA (AP) — Jalen Hurts got to the point faster than he gets into the end zone on a tush push. Before a reporter could finish the first question to Hurts on the first day of Eagles’ training camp about the franchise QB’s seemingly complicated dynamic with coach Nick Sirianni, Hurts cut him off: The bottom line, all is good between Hurts and the fourth-year coach. “I think we’re in a great place,” Hurts said. Do the Eagles really believe it inside the locker room? On a muggy Wednesday in Philadelphia, hundreds of fans packed the team facility to watch the first drills of camp — the first one held without either retired greats Jason Kelce or Fletcher Cox since 2010 — and tried to deduce if any simmering tension existed between Sirianni and Hurts.
The Acme Parking Lot Violinist Is Back In Mays Landing, NJ

Eagles' Kelee Ringo: Seeing first-team work
Ringo was spotted working with Philadelphia's first-team defense Wednesday, Ralph Vacchiano of Fox Sports reports. Ringo started seeing more work on the Eagles' first-team defense towards the end of his rookie campaign, and it appears that he'll remain one of Philadelphia's top cornerbacks in 2024. The Georgia product recorded 21 total tackles and two pass deflections, including one interception, across 17 games last season (199 defensive snaps). He's expected to compete with Isaiah Rodgers and Avonte Maddox for a larger defensive role as the offseason progresses.
Jalen Hurts Says Relationship with Nick Sirianni is "in a Great Place"
It’s been hard to hear some of the Eagles coach and player press conferences on day 1 of training camp because there are a bunch of shrieking kids in the background, and they run these long streams that you can’t rewind until they finish, but Jalen Hurts was asked about his relationship with Nick Sirianni and said this in two parts:
NHL Dream Fulfilled, Matvei Michkov is Here to Win

The LOVE Sculpture: An Icon of Philadelphia and a Symbol of Affection
Robert Indiana initially designed the LOVE sculpture in 1964 as a Christmas card for the Museum of Modern Art. The design quickly gained popularity, and in 1970, Indiana created the first LOVE sculpture in Indianapolis. In 1976, a larger version of the sculpture was installed in Philadelphia's John F. Kennedy Plaza (now known as LOVE Park) as part of the United States Bicentennial celebration.
Eagles training camp game ball: A.J. Brown looks to be dominant once again in 2024
The Eagles' first training camp practice of 2024 is in the books. All last summer here at PhillyVoice, we handed out an offensive and defensive game ball for each practice. That tradition continues this year. Jalen Hurts had a strong day, but it makes little sense to give the game ball to the QB when we spend an entire article breaking down his play. I'm going with a superstar wideout on offense and a surprising rookie on defense...
