Shallow Ford Foundation elects board officers and directors

CLEMMONS —The Shallow Ford Foundation Board of Directors recently announced the election of officers for the 2024-2025 fiscal year.

Officers elected

Jennifer W. Johnson, chair

Jennifer Johnson

Certified Financial Planner (CFP) and principal

Jennifer Johnson, principal of Three Magnolias Financial Advisors in Winston-Salem, holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and an MBA from UNC-Greensboro. In addition, she has completed the Certified Financial Planner (CFP) designation. Active in the community and in philanthropy, Johnson and her husband, David, have supported several organizations including Second Harvest Food Bank, Samaritan Ministries, and Matthew 25 Ministries. Johnson has served in leadership roles as a member of the Boonville United Methodist Church and Winston-Salem Financial Services Professionals. She is an active sports fan especially when her own girls are on the volleyball court. Johnson and David reside in Boonville and have two daughters, Elizabeth “Libby” and Ella Caroline.

Robin Paul, vice chair

Co-founder, Chris Paul Family Foundation

Robin Paul has been a resident of Lewisville since 1984. She is co-founder of the Chris Paul Family Foundation and retired from Wachovia Bank. Paul works closely with organizations trying to level the playing field for children in various cities. She is a core member of YourMomCares, focusing on children’s mental health. Paul and her husband, Charles Paul Sr., have two sons — Charles Paul Jr. (CJ) and Chris, and four grandchildren — Chris II, Camryn, Carder, and Chloe.

Stacy Mayhew, Secretary

Chief financial officer, Hip Chics, Inc.

Stacy Mayhew is a certified public accountant and has served as the chief financial officer for Hip Chics Inc. in Clemmons since its inception 17 years ago. She received her BS in business administration and masters of accounting from UNC – Chapel Hill and worked in public accounting for several years before entering the corporate world. She is an active member of River Oaks Community Church where she enjoys her small group and children’s program involvement. Mayhew was also a founding board member and volunteer treasurer for a local non-profit, Sally’s Angels, Inc. which serves families of critically and chronically ill children in our community. She and her husband Les live in Clemmons and have three grown children, Ryan, Jake and Meredith.

Bradley O. Gray, CPA, Treasurer

Managing principal, Gray, Callison & Jones CPA, PC

Continuing for a second year as treasurer, Bradley O. Gray is the managing principal of the CPA firm Gray, Callison & Jones CPA, PC in Winston-Salem. In addition to the firm management, Gray also provides tax and accounting services to individuals, small businesses and certain nonprofit organizations. A graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, Gray is certified to practice in North Carolina and he is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. Gray is involved with many civic and community groups, is a Paul Harris Fellow in the Clemmons Rotary Club, and lives in Clemmons.

Robert D. Sipprell Jr. (Bob), immediate past chair

Bob Sipprell will continue as an officer, in the role of immediate past chair for the past year. Sipprel l is a retired human resource exec utive, having spent his career in Winston-Salem with Integon and Wachovia. He has lived in Clemmons 40+ years. Sipprell graduated with a BA in economics from Bethany College and an MBA from Michigan State. He has been an active volunteer in the community, serving on the boards of the YMCA and March of Dimes and volunteering with the Clemmons Food Pantry and Clemmons Methodist Men’s Club disaster relief teams. Bob and his wife Drinda have two grown sons and six grandchildren.

Other directors who will be continuing their terms on the board: Emmy Matthews Corn, manager/lender, First National Bank, Yadkinville; Victoria Crissman, N.C. property and casualty agent and operations manager with CMS Insurance and Financial; Kim Henson; Bo Houff; Dan Pugh; and Ronnie Willard.

In addition, the board named T im W. Bell, former chair, to the honorary position of board member emeritus , joining other emeriti, John Bost; Ken Burkel; John D. Crouch Jr. CPA, CVA; and Donald S. Kinney, CPA.

Bell completed two 3-year terms on the board, two years as board chair, and has been an active leader throughout his service with the foundation, helping to launch new initiatives, serving as emcee for many of its events including Shore Scholars Signing Day, and has been an ever-present contributor to the foundation’s work.  Professionally, Bell serves as direct or of facilities management for Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist. Bell is part of the Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist team where he has served for more than 21 years. He is a veteran of more than 20 years of military service in the United States Air Force, where he served as a headquarters financial analyst. Bell is also an ordained minister and motivational speaker. He is married to Donyea (Dee) Dockery of Raeford, has two sons, Brandon and Jared, and two grandchildren, Brandon and Malia.

The foundation also recognizes its members who have completed two terms on the board, namely Holly Groce, JD and principal with Clemmons Family Law; Brett Hoge, senior managing director and financial advisor at Truist Investment Services, Inc.; and William T. Lawler.
