WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. (WGHP) — Police investigated what they described as a bomb threat at a home in Winston-Salem on Tuesday afternoon.

At 12:06 p.m., officers responded to a reported bomb threat in the 1600 Block of Preston Woods Drive, according to a Winston-Salem Police Department news release.

While investigating, officers got information suggesting the threat could be credible, so the Winston-Salem Fire Department and WSPD specialized units were called.

People in the area were told of the situation due to potential safety concerns.

WSPD crisis negotiators and SWAT Team members spoke with a person in the house. After multiple efforts by both teams over the phone, the person was taken into custody after a brief foot chase.

    No injuries were reported.

The person who was arrested was the only person in the house, and no explosive materials were found.

    The investigation is ongoing.
