    Enjoy some creative cocktails and mocktails at the Katharine in Winston-Salem

    WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. (WGHP) — Sip your way through the summer with some refreshing cocktails and mocktails.

    Shannon Smith shows us a few fun options from The Katharine Brasserie and Bar in Winston-Salem.

    COCKTAILS:

    Clockwork

    In shaker tin muddle:

    • 2 strawberries
    • 5 basil leaves
    • 1 oz. strawberry simple syrup OR spoonful of strawberry preserves

    Add

    • 1.5 oz. Ketel One Vodka
    • 0.5 oz. Cointreau Orange Liqueur
    • Shake & strain over ice
    • Top with equal parts sparkling rose & soda water

    To make non-alcoholic version:

    • Use Lyre’s Orange Sec vs. Cointreau
    • Use FRE Alcohol Removed Sparkling Rose
    • Leave out vodka (no replacement needed)

    The Graduate

    In shaker tin combine:

    • 0.75 oz. Diplome Gin (or gin of choice)
    • 0.75 oz. Raspberry Liqueur
    • 0.75 oz. Amaro Flora (product of Asheville, NC) or amaro of choice
    • 0.75 oz. Lemon Juice

    Shake & strain
    Garnish with an edible flower or Luxardo cherry

    Melody & Silence

    In Collins glass combine:

    • 1 oz. Brugal 1888 Rum
    • 1 oz. Fever-Tree Grapefruit Soda Simple Syrup

    Fever-Tree Grapefruit Soda Simple Syrup Recipe:

    • Combine 16.9 oz. bottle soda and ½ cup sugar
    • Bring to a boil and let simmer until reduced

    0.75 oz. Campari

    • Stir
    • Top with soda water
    • Garnish with a lemon peel

    ZERO-PROOF

    Faux Fizz (Spirit-Free)

    In shaker tin combine:

    • 1.5 oz. Ceder’s ‘Classic’
    • 0.75 oz. Lavender Simple Syrup
    • 0.75 oz. Lime Juice
    • 1 oz. Egg White
    • Dry shake (shake without ice) then shake & strain over large cube
    • Top with a dropper of Dram ‘Lavender & Lemongrass’ N/A bitters

    Bingo Bango Spritz (Spirit-Free)

    In wine glass combine:

    • 0.75 oz. Lemon Thyme Simple Syrup
    • Lemon Thyme Simple Syrup recipe
    • Combine 1 cup sugar, 1 cup water, 4 lemon slices, .5 oz. lemon juice a few sprigs of thyme
    • Bring to a boil and simmer for 5-10 minutes
    • Strain & cool

    “Fun” Ice Cube

    • Using any ice mold, fill it with edible flowers, berries, fruit juice, etc. and top off with water and freeze
    • Equal parts
    • Strawberry Lemonade Bingo Bango Soda (product of Winston-Salem, NC)
    • Soda Water
