RAGBRAI Riders Continue Journey Today to Winterset

(Atlantic) After two short forty-mile trips from Glenwood to Red Oak and Red to Atlantic, cyclists will make an 82-mile trip to Winterset today. Riders are leaving Atlantic this morning and heading east through Wiota, Cumberland, Massena, Fontanelle, Greenfield, Orient, Macksburg, and Winterset.

Doug Venteicher, Co-Chair of the Massena RAGBRAI Committee, says they look forward to greeting the riders as they pass through Massena.

According to the Massena RAGBRAI Facebook Page, there are several food stops in town—there will be signs! Massena City Park is a place to relax and has shade. The Bike repair shop will be on the South side of the park. The Massena Fire Station has a Beer Garden, and across from it, McCunn’s Body Shop sells apples and bananas. Amos Foods will serve Steak Sandwiches, B & D Ice Cream will serve ice cream, and Culinary Cruzer will serve deli sandwiches. Main Street Bar & Grill will have a Beer Garden and food! Economy Foods will serve breakfast burritos. Venteicher says their slogan is “Massena Friendlier than ever.”
