    Transplant benefit

    Salvation and Praise Full Gospel Church Ministries, 9243 W. Marlboro Road, Farmville, will host a liver transplant benefit service at 4 p.m. Sunday to assist Suzanne Sheppard, co-pastor at Victory & Dominion WOC in Snow Hill. Those who can’t attend can donate at tinyurl.com/psfmwytn.

    Men’s Day service

    Sycamore Hill Missionary Baptist Church, 1001 Hooker Road, Greenville, will host a Men’s Day Service at 11 a.m. Sunday. The theme is “Strong Men In Tough Times.” The Rev. Dr. F.A. Davis from Durham will be the guest preacher.

    Woman’s Day service

    Good Hope Free Will Baptist Church, 2506 Mill St., Winterville, will host a Women’s Day service at 10 a.m. Sunday. The theme is “100 Women in Hats.”

    Pastor anniversary

    Mount Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church, 230 Boyd Street, Winterville, will celebrate the seventh anniversary of its pastor, Rev. C.E. Cunningham, on Sunday. Guest minister at 10 a.m. will be Rev. Daphne Hall of the St. Reddick Missionary Baptist Church, Belhaven. Guests at 3 p.m. will be C.O. Donald and Mount Zion Missionary Baptist Church of Beaufort. Dinner will be served.

    LIFE Ministries

    The LIFE Ministries addiction recovery program meets at 6:30 p.m. on Mondays at Winterville Baptist Church, 2593 Church St. The meetings are open to men and women, include a meal and are free of charge. Call 560-5091 or visit www.lifeaddictionrecovery.com.

    Grocery store tour

    Pitt Partners for Health is sponsoring the Penny Pinchers Healthy Grocery Store Tour at 10 a.m. on Tuesday at Food Lion, 3700 S. Memorial Drive. The tour includes the $15 Healthy Food Challenge, which gives participants a gift card to buy healthy food that meets the guidelines discussed during the tour.     Dealing with dementia

    The Alzheimer’s Association Empowered Caregiver education series will present Responding to Dementia-Related Behavior from 2-3 p.m.Thursday at Brookdale Dickinson Avenue, 2715 Dickinson Ave. The program teaches caregivers how to navigate the responsibilities of caring for someone living with dementia and recognizing when help is needed.     Introduction to Navigation

    Youth empowerment

    Victory & Dominion Church Youth Department is hosting its annual Youth Empowerment Event at 6:30 p.m. Friday. All ages are welcome to attend and registration is free.     Make a Blanket Day

    Trinity Free Will Baptist Church, 3111 Golden Road is hosting Make a Blanket Day from 9 a.m. to noon on July 27. The event is sponsored by Project Linus of Beaufort, Greene and Pitt counties, which provides handmade blankets to children in the United States who are seriously ill. Visit projectlinus.org.

    Finding hope

    Finding Hope, a faith-based support group for family and friends of loved ones who are struggling with drug or alcohol addiction, will meet at 7 p.m. on Aug. 12 in the parlor at First Presbyterian Church, 1400 S. Elm St. Light refreshments will be served. The group meets on the second and fourth Monday of each month. Call 341-9356.
