    JANESVILLE - On 12/23/23 at 03:41 A.M. officers were dispatched to a domestic disturbance in the 900 block of Riverside Dr. Multiple victims reported Derrick Stevenson was making threats to occupants in the home while causing a disturbance. It was disclosed to officers that Derrick Stevenson was still in the home but was not compliant with coming out.

    Officers were given consent to enter the home and search for Stevenson. Stevenson was hiding in a crawl space in the unfinished attic of the home. Stevenson was taken into custody without any force being used.

    Stevenson is currently being held at the Rock County Jail awaiting an initial appearance.

    The accused individual faces two counts of disorderly conduct involving domestic abuse (sections 947.01(1) and 968.075(1)(a)), as well as one charge of bail jumping, classified as a felony offense under section 946.49(1)(B) of the law. Within 9 hours of his release, Stevenson engaged in a disturbance with the same victims at the same location.

    Prior Incident JV2352360:

    On 10/21/23 at 04:34 A.M. officers were dispatched to the report of a 911 emergency call in the 900 block of Riverside Dr. Officers arrived and could hear a verbal disturbance inside the residence. Contact was made with several persons inside the house. It was disclosed to officers that Derrick Stevenson was intoxicated and had armed himself with 2 firearms. Stevenson also discharged a firearm inside of the home during the disturbance.

    Officers escorted the victims away from the home and Stevenson was arrested without issue. No one was injured during the disturbance. During a search of the home 2 firearms were seized, as well as a spent casing and bullet. The case remains under investigation.
