PWashington County Sheriff’s investigators remain on the scene of a fatal semi versus pedestrian accident that occurred on Interstate 41 at Sherman Road in the Town of Polk at around 7:45 am this morning. Northbound I41 did remain closed until at least 1 pm.

According to a release from the Washington County Sheriff’s Department, the male victim was struck in the middle of the traffic lanes of the interstate. The semi-truck driver was uninjured remained on scene and has been fully cooperative with investigators. Deputies and officers with the Slinger Police Department were dispatched to the area just before the accident for a possible distressed individual on the Sherman Road overpass", said the release, " No additional information on the events surrounding this will be released at this time."
