If you're hunting for some hearty barbecue in Madison, Famous Dave's Bar-B-Que should be on your radar. I recently had a chance to dine there and was immediately drawn to their ribs and beef brisket. The ribs were a standout, tender and moist with a sauce that perfectly coated each piece. It's a dish I'd go back for in a heartbeat. However, the beef brisket was a bit of a letdown, coming across too dry for my taste, though the portion size was generous.
The restaurant also offers some great lunch deals, and I couldn't resist trying the Chicken Strip Basket and the Georgia Pulled Pork Sandwich on another visit. Both dishes were delicious, and the sides, including garlic red-skin mashed potatoes and Wilbur Beans, did not disappoint. The cornbread muffins served alongside were some of the best I've ever tasted. While I missed having draft beer, the full bar and happy hour deals made up for it. The service was top-notch, adding to the overall pleasant experience. Whether you're a local or just passing through, Famous Dave's is worth a visit for a casual meal that feels both satisfying and indulgent.
