Southeast Wisconsin weather: Prepare for heat and humidity

Get ready for heat and humidity to set in across Southeast Wisconsin!

Overnight will be mostly cloudy and dry with lows in the 60s. By Sunday morning, scattered rain and thundershowers will be approaching, and we will keep a scattered chance of those showers passing through early afternoon. If you've got outdoor plans with Dad early, be sure to keep an eye on the radar. Late afternoon and evening will be dry, but it will be very warm and humid for any outdoor activities. Highs will top out in the mid to upper 80s, with dew points in the mid to upper 60s.

For anyone with plans on Lake Michigan Sunday — heads up — a small craft advisory is in place for the nearshore waters due to waves between four and six feet. There is a HIGH swim risk for Sheboygan and Ozaukee counties, and a MODERATE swim risk for Milwaukee, Racine and Kenosha counties. Swimming is not advised.

Highs Monday look to top out in the low to mid-90s. Heat index values will likely approach 100 degrees in spots. Pop-up storms cannot be ruled out with all of the heat around, but most of Monday looks dry.

Tuesday is still hot and humid with highs in the upper 80s to low 90s, pop-up thunderstorms are possible.

A better chance for rain and storms moves in Wednesday.

During this hot stretch, remember to stay hydrated, limit time outdoors and in the direct sun, check on friends and neighbors without A/C and take good care of your pets!
