These days, Lainey Wilson is a name in country music that everyone knows. From her first hit, "Man Oughta Know," to her appearance on the hit TV show Yellowstone, to the album that put her on the map, Bell Bottom Country , Wilson has had a career-defining run these last two years. With her successes leading to many partnerships, a
Grammy Award , CMA Awards, and thousands of fans that span internationally, everyone loves the Louisiana native's twang and authentic spirit. However, it has not always been an easy road to get to where Wilson is today. With her latest record, Whirlwind , around the corner from being released, Wilson is sitting down and chatting about her journey to fame with Sunday Sitdown. The recently inducted Grand Ole Opry member spoke about the road from Hannah Montana impersonator to Entertainer of the Year. From a young age, Wilson knew that she wanted to be a country singer, putting her nose to the grindstone and moving to Nashville to pursue her dream...while living out of a
camper in her friend's yard. After years of hard work, Wilson finally had a single that took off, with her first hit, "Man Oughtta Know." However, the radio success did not mean what Wilson had initially expected. "Even after "Things A Man Oughta Know," with our first hit, I could barely sell a ticket. It was the strangest thing. A lot of people know the songs on the radio, but they don't know who sings them. Like I need to be on TikTok as much as I can, they need to know me as a friend, and then get to know my music. And so I really kind of lead with that foot, and then 'Yellowstone' happened..." Wilson's music was sampled during season two before she made her TV debut as Abby in season five. Her music took off with the help of the hit Western and the release of her groundbreaking album
Bell Bottom Country , and Wilson's fame took off. "These past few years have just been wild. Just trying to keep one foot on the ground and keep my eye on the prize, and just make sure I keep showing up to do what I said I was going to do." Now, with fans eagerly awaiting the release of her next album, Wilson is making sure she is not losing touch with who she is to the core. "I felt like I wanted to share a part of me that I didn't even know existed like I wanted to find that. I think these last couple of years, because it has been a constant leveling up, I cannot let go of who I am to my core. Because the music's not going to be the same. So, for me, when I was writing this record, I was making dang sure that both of my feet were planted on the ground."
Wilson's life has been nothing short of a Whirlwind these last few years, and she noted during the album announcement that this record has kept her grounded throughout the madness of shooting into the limelight. I am ready to hear this next chapter of music from Wilson. August 23rd needs to come quickly. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WCt3cExAft4 Country’s Cool Again 2024 Tour Dates: Jul 19, 2024 Twin Lakes, WI Country Thunder Wisconsin Aug 08, 2024 Huntsville, AL The Orion Amphitheater Aug 09, 2024 Southaven, MS BankPlus Amphitheater at Snowden Grove Aug 10, 2024 Rogers, AR Walmart AMP Aug 22, 2024 Prescott Valley, AZ Findlay Toyota Center Aug 23, 2024 Chula Vista, CA North Island Credit Union Amphitheatre Aug 24, 2024 Concord, CA Toyota Pavilion at Concord Sep 01, 2024 Los Angeles, CA The Greek Theatre Sep 13, 2024 Salt Lake City, UT USANA Amphitheatre Sep 14, 2024 Boise, ID Ford Idaho Center Sep 15, 2024 Missoula, MT University of Montana – Adams Center Sep 19, 2024 Fresno, CA Save Mart Center Sep 20, 2024 Lake Tahoe, CA Lake Tahoe Outdoor Arena at Harveys Sep 26, 2024 Vancouver, BC Rogers Arena Sep 27, 2024 Auburn, WA White River Amphitheatre Sep 28, 2024 Ridgefield, WA RV Inn Style Resorts Amphitheater Oct 10, 2024 Lubbock, TX United Supermarkets Arena Oct 18, 2024 Raleigh, NC Red Hat Amphitheater Oct 19, 2024 Alpharetta, GA Ameris Bank Amphitheatre Oct 20, 2024 Wilmington, NC Live Oak Bank Pavilion Oct 24, 2024 London, ON Budweiser Gardens Oct 25, 2024 Oshawa, ON Tribute Communities Centre Oct 26, 2024 Pittsburgh, PA Petersen Events Center Oct 27, 2024 Little Rock, AR Simmons Bank Arena Nov 02, 2024 Evansville, IN Ford Center Nov 03, 2024 Charleston, WV Charleston Coliseum Nov 07, 2024 Oklahoma, City, OK Paycom Center Nov 08, 2024 Omaha, NE CHI Health Center Nov 09, 2024 Sioux Falls, SD Denny Sanford Premier Center Nov 15, 2024 Monroe, LA Monroe Civic Center
