Forbes ranks WESTconsin as top credit union in state

WESTconsin Credit Union is honored to be named the top credit union in Wisconsin on Forbes’ 2024 America’s Best Credit Unions in Each State list. This year, WESTconsin is listed as No. 1 for the first time, moving up three spots from fourth in 2023. Making the list were 207 credit unions out of the nearly 4,700 across the country, WESTconsin being one of two credit unions recognized in western Wisconsin.

"We are incredibly honored to be named the top credit union in Wisconsin as it’s a testament to the hard work and dedication of our entire team, as well as the trust and support of our members,” said Lora Benrud, CEO of WESTconsin Credit Union. “Our commitment to 'Inspiring Better' for our employees, members, and communities remains stronger than ever as we celebrate 85 years and see continued growth and success. Our members financial needs are at the heart of who we are and what we do, and this recognition is a prime example of that.”

Forbes partnered with market research firm, Statista, to survey approximately 26,000 people nationally to create the list. Respondents evaluated their financial institutions based on their level of satisfaction, willingness to recommend it to others, customer service, financial services offered, and others. Online reviews and ratings between February 2021 and March 2024 were also evaluated for each institution. Reviews accounted for 20% of the scoring, while the surveys made up 80%.

WESTconsin Credit Union has been serving members since 1939. Credit unions are financial institutions owned by their accountholders, and member funds are federally insured by the National Credit Union Administration up to at least $250,000.
