Sen. JD Vance (R-OH) walked over to Vice President Kamala Harris’ plane on a Wisconsin tarmac on Wednesday as the two prepare to have dueling rallies in Wisconsin.

According to Semafor’s Shelby Talcott , a plane carrying Vance landed at the same tarmac as Harris’ Air Force Two on Wednesday afternoon. Vance then walked over to his opponent’s plane before giving comments to the press.

Harris’ motorcade was later seen leaving the area with Vance later confirming he did not interact with the vice president but added he “wanted to go say hello to the vice president and ask her why does she refuse to answer questions.”

Republicans have recently criticized Harris for not facing questions from the press in the weeks since she announced her candidacy and became the likely Democratic nominee.

“Figured I’d come by and wanted to just get a good look at the plane because hopefully it’ll be my plane in a few months,” Vance told reporters in front of Air Force Two. “But I also thought you guys might get lonely because the vice president doesn’t answer questions from reporters and hasn’t for seventeen days.”

He continued, “Have they gave you guys an explanation for why she won’t take questions from reporters? Well I hope that she changes her mind because it will be good for the American people, and I think it’d be good for you all if she actually ran a real campaign instead of one from a basement with a teleprompter.”
