    Triple homicide in Lawrence

This story has been updated to include quotes from Lawrence police and the identity of one of the victims.

LAWRENCE, Ind. (WISH) — Three males were fatally shot in a triple homicide incident in Lawrence, and police are still searching for suspects.

Around 8:50 p.m. Sunday, Lawrence Police Department officers were dispatched to the intersection of East 42nd Street and North Post Road on a report of a person shot.

Officers arrived at the scene and found three male victims with gunshot wound injuries. According to investigators, two victims were pronounced dead at the scene, and the third victim was pronounced dead at a local hospital.

The Marion County Coroner’s Office identified one of the three victims as 31-year-old Daniel Alberto Morales Uribe. The identities of the two other males were pending next-of-kin identification.

Travis Cline, investigations division commander with Lawrence police, told News 8, “There were several shell casings on the ground and lots of witnesses on scene. It’s a busy intersection.”

Witnesses told investigators a vehicle fled southbound on Post Road. The vehicle was then involved in an accident on 38th and Post Road, and witnesses say they saw two male suspects fleeing from the suspect vehicle on foot.

“The flock cameras will capture plates that have gone north and south on Post Grove that will aid in our investigation,” Cline said. “It breaks our heart, we’re sorry for (the) loss and our investigators are going to work diligently to solve this case.”

Cline told News 8 they have no suspects in custody, and the two scenes are under investigation.

Anyone with information was asked to contact the Lawrence Police Department at 317-549-6404.
