GRAND FORKS, ND (July 26, 2024) — Jade Hastings won the Northern Outlaw Sprint Association feature Friday night at River Cities Speedway. Hastings moved up from third starting position for his third win of the 2024 season. Nick Omdahl, Weston Olson, Jack Croaker, and Adam Sobolik rounded out the top five.

Trollwood cancels two shows due to high winds
FARGO, ND — The Trollwood Performing Arts School cancelled theater performances Thursday and Friday night because of weather forecasts calling for high winds in the area. A message posted to the group’s Facebook page says “high winds forecasted by the National Weather Service pose a significant threat to our students and staff.” Ticket holders for both the Thursday and Friday performances of The Addams Family will be allowed to rebook a seat for the one remaining performance on Saturday, July 27th. We’re told ticket holders for the Thursday or Friday performance will receive an email with instructions on how to rebook their tickets.

Bismarck City Commission Approves 2025 Budget
(Bismarck, ND) — The Bismarck City Commission has approved next year’s budget, without any opposition and without a tax increase. The preliminary budget is roughly 404-million dollars, and the city finance director says property tax rates haven’t increased and will maintain the same mil levy. That mil level could actually decrease depending on how much Burleigh County contributes to public health. City commissioners are expected to give the budget a final approval in September.
Buffalo Days Begins in Jamestown
Buffalo Days begins in Jamestown today. The student musical opens at the Arts Center tonight, and KSJB Radio will be broadcasting live outside of the venue from 2-5:00 p.m. The all day events tomorrow include the pancake feed, parade through downtown, the car and hot rod shows, 4-H and ag exhibits, along with live music. Great Plains Multi-Day Severe Threat
Thanks to a stubborn, slow-moving low-pressure system, a large portion of the Great Plains will deal with a storm threat over the next few days. Sunday's risk reaches from the South Dakota through Nebraska, and down into the northwestern Kansas. There's a slight risk (level 2 out of 5) in parts of the High Plains for the potential of damaging wind gusts. Although, a couple of tornadoes cannot be completely ruled out.
