(WIVT/WBGH) – Maine Endwell High School is holding a board meeting tonight and is expected to be well attended by families concerned about the cheerleading team.

Tonight’s board meeting begins at 6 p.m. in the high school’s Staff Development Room.

According to a social media post, on September 23rd, cheerleaders were notified during the school day that their team was put “on hold” as their coaches had resigned from their positions.

News 34 has acquired the resignation letter from the three coaches. In it, the coaches say they resigned because they have not felt supported by the district in dealing with the harassment from a single parent that has occurred over the course of several years.

Coaches go on to say that they repeatedly shared their concerns with the district, and do not feel that the administration took their concerns seriously.

The district has hired a new coach and were back at practice this past Friday.

The squad cheered at Saturday’s football game and took home first place in their first meet of the season.

The district says is will not comment further on the situation, as it is a personnel matter.

Below, you will find a copy of the resignation letter with names redacted.
