Broome County Dog Shelter hosting open house

TOWN OF DICKINSON, N.Y. (WIVT/WBGH) – The Broome County Dog Shelter is encouraging potential pet parents to bring a new friend home.

The Broome County Dog Shelter is hosting an open house on October 12 from 12 to 4 p.m.

The public is invited to come and tour the facility, meet the staff, and visit the dogs without an appointment. Those in attendance will also be able to learn about volunteer opportunities.

The dog shelter will also be accepting donations. They are in need of the following items:

• Tide liquid laundry detergent
• Clorox bleach
• Blue dawn dish soap
• Purina One dry dog food
• Plush squeky toys
• Nyla bones
• Rawhides

Monetary donations are welcome as well.
