DELHI, N.Y. (WIVT/WBGH) – A 76-year-old Margaretville woman pleaded guilty to drug charges on Monday.

District Attorney Shawn Smith announced today that Diana Leduc pleaded guilty to Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Fifth Degree with the Intent to Sell, a Class D Felony and Driving While Ability Impaired by Drugs.

Leduc admitted to possessing cocaine in the Town of Middletown on January 8. She was intending to sell the cocaine.

She also admitted that she was operating a motor vehicle in the Town of Middletown while she was impaired by marijuana.

The guilty pleas were entered as part of a negotiated disposition. Leduc is expected to spend 2 years in New York State prison, followed by 2 years of post-release supervision. She will also have to pay fines and surcharges imposed by the court.

“While my office focuses on treatment for drug-users, our focus remains on incarcerating the individual drug dealers profiting off of addiction,” said Smith.
