Waverly pummels O-M, M-E outlasts Forks

SOUTHERN TIER, N.Y. (WIVT/WBGH) – The Waverly Wolverines, the Class C 1 seed, with 1 loss on the season in overtime to another 1 seed, and in a great spot to bounce back against Odessa-Montour.

The Wolverines up 42 in the 2nd, The Storm heave it downfield and it’s picked off by Chase Wheeler. The sophomore takes off for a short return and is brought down around midfield.
On the ensuing drive, it’s a hand-off to Bryce Laforest. He evades a few tacklers and picks up a big gain for a Waverly 1st down.
A few plays later, it’s another give to Laforest and the sophomore takes it to the endzone for the score.

All Wolverines, 62-0.

Now folks, the game of the week. Class C’s 3 seed Chenango Forks, playing host to Class B’s 1 seed Maine-Endwell. A game between two powerhouses in a place that’s always rocking. And man did it live up to the hype.

M-E up 7 and looking for more. 4th down, Preston Ocker looks endzone but gets sacked, but it’s scooped up by Luca Konrad, who’s able to make the defense miss and add 6 more.
Then Spartans again, handoff to Jaden Branch and he’ll walk in untouched to make it 21-0.
Forks was looking to fight back. A great pass finds Finn Starks, who slips past the defense and in for the touchdown.
Then after a successful onside kick, balls fumbled on the goal line but Sam Paske was able to pick it up and find paydirt.

In a burner, the Spartans take home the win 21-14.
