Tioga County Chamber of Commerce hosts job and networking fair

OWEGO, N.Y. (WIVT/WBGH) – The Tioga County Chamber of Commerce hosted a job fair last week that gave job seekers a chance to see a bunch of hiring businesses all in the same place.

Industries such as hospitals, the sheriff’s department, high school and college education, and many more were represented.

The event featured informative workshops, networking opportunities, and even a photo booth to take your professional head shot.

Sabrina Henriques, CEO and President of the chamber, says as we get into the holiday season, we will definitely see an uptick in jobs.

“First of all, as a job seeker, you know, you get to have all these great companies in one place that you get to go and see kind of what’s out there. We’ve had a lot of job seekers who have been either out of the market for a while or their transitioning in what they’re planning on doing and so having an environment like this where they can really see what’s out there is great all in one place,” said Henriques.

She says this is the first time they are holding this fair at the Owego Nazarene Church, and they hope to host it there again in the future.
