OWEGO, N.Y. (WIVT/WBGH) – The Village of Owego is celebrating its first responders with a special event.

Village Appreciation Night will return on October 18 at the Tioga County Fairgrounds. The event was started at the end of the Covid-19 pandemic to bring the community together.

The event will feature live music, food, games, prizes, a hot air balloon, fireworks, touch a truck, and more. Additionally, there will be a bonfire and hay wagon rides for all to enjoy.

This event is put on by the Village, Owego Police Department, Owego Fire Department and Owego EMS as well as Cops 4 A Cause and the Police Benevolent Association. It is also hosted by the Owego Nazarene Church, Wagner Lumber, and Tioga Hardwoods.

The event is free to attend. It will be held from 5:30 to 9 p.m.
