Trick or Treat at Animal Adventure Park

HARPURSVILLE, NY (WIVT/WBGH) – Families are gearing up for Halloween, and some, did a practice run out in Harpursville today alongside some of their favorite animals.

Animal Adventure Park hosted its daytime trick or treat around the park.

Throughout the park, dozens of volunteers and organizations setup tables and booths, decked out in Halloween decorations, to hand out candy to the little ones.

The kids came dressed in their favorite costume and visited each table, saying the magic words, Trick or Treat, before grabbing a few pieces of candy.

The owner of Animal Adventure Park, Jordan Patch, says every year, the trick or treat events continue to grow.

“This year, coupled with the beautiful weather we’re having in October, we’ve seen record crowds. Yesterday was the largest trick or treat crowd we’ve ever seen. And today, Sunday, we’ve already welcomed over twelve-hundred people in just under two hours,” says Patch.

Patch says they also hosted a trick or treat event at night-time to make it a bit spookier.

Some of the organizations there include the Children’s Home of Binghamton, the Broome County Sheriff’s Office, and SUNY Broome.

Patch says since the weather has been so beautiful, the park is adding two more bonus days next Saturday and Sunday before closing its regular fall season.

But soon enough, starting in November and running through December will be Animal Adventure’s jungle bells light festival with over two-million lights.
