    Barnwell Co. man arrested, charged with murder by SLED after shooting in Bamberg Co.

    BAMBERG COUNTY, S.C. (WJBF) – A Barnwell County man has been arrested and charged by SLED with murder in connection to the death of a 33-year-old man.

    According to SLED, Aubrey Priester, Jr., 42, was charged with Murder and Possession of a Weapon During a Violent Crime on Sunday, August 4th at approximately 3:30 A.M.

    According to authorities, Priester was involved in an altercation with the victim, who was identified by the Bamberg County Coroner as Juston Dewayne Lyles Erving, 33, and during the course of the altercation, Erving produced a firearm and began firing at a trailer located on Sato Avenue in Bamberg County.

    According to SLED, a witness states that Priester produced a firearm and shot Erving causing him to fall to the ground, and while Erving was on the ground and incapacitated, Priester approached Erving and repeatedly shot him in the upper torso and the head.

    According to SLED, Priester was booked into the Bamberg County Detention Center.
