BEECH ISLAND, S.C. (WJBF) – A boil water advisory is in effect for some customers of Beech Island Water District due to a water main break.

The advisory, which was issued shortly after 10 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 16, stated that there is no confirmed contamination, but “the potential for contamination exists” due to loss of water pressure.

The following areas are under the notice:

    • Glenwood Drive
    • Oxford Place
    • Keys Dairy and Hillman Drive on Pine Log Road

People in those areas experiencing little and/or no water pressure are asked to boil their water for one full minute prior to drinking or cooking until the advisory is lifted. Those with questions about this notice can contact Beech Island Water District at (803) 827-1004 during office hours.

Updates to boil water advisories can be found on the Beech Island Water & Sewer District Facebook page .

Beech Island Water District apologized for any inconveniences relating to the incident.
