EVANS, Ga. (WJBF) – Friday night lights is back, and we went to a few games to see what fans look forward to this football season.

People in the community enjoy going to different football games throughout the area just because they love football.

“I played in high school. I played as long as I could, and I just love football. That’s why I’ll go wherever. Just to see football,” said Mike Palmer, a football fan.

With the first football games of the season underway in Georgia, students and fans were excited to support their home teams.

“Being able to come and watch him, this is my first time seeing him play. When he gets out there. I’m just excited. He’s my only grandson,” said Melody Brown, a grandma.

While a few grandparents were there looking forward to seeing their grandchild in their element.

“We’re most excited for the team. The development of the team,” said Jay Patterson, Grandpa. “Make sure that we start off on a good foot this year. And we are going to take one game at a time. We’re going to press one thing at a time. I’m here to support my grandson with the marching band with Lakeside, and if they can get the music and make sure we can get a melody of victory, we will be happy and satisfied.”

Talasia Carter, a Grovetown Alumna, came to the game with her family to enjoy it and remember her time there.

“It brings back a lot of memories, and it just, you know. It feels good to be back,” said Talasia Carter, Grovetown Alumni.

Parents of players are ready for their team to do well this season, and in all hope, they enjoy it.
“I’m here today to check out my son. He’s playing on the Evans football team, and I’m just looking for wins for this season. I hope these kids have a whole bunch of fun,” said Roderick Curd, a parent.

Seniors are ready to show up and out in their student sections this year to support the team.

“I’m more excited to see my boy cousin play and the student section, of course. The boys right here with warriors right here,” said Luis Guzman, a senior at Grovetown High School.
