AUGUSTA, Ga. (WJBF) – The Richmond County Sheriff’s Office is requesting the public’s help in locating a man wanted for armed robbery and home invasion.

According to an incident report, 44-year-old James Trimble III kicked in his ex-girlfriend’s apartment door on Fayetteville Drive, August 18th. The woman’s new boyfriend got up around 4:00 a.m. to use the restroom and noticed Tremble inside the home with a handgun. Tremble allegedly robbed the new boyfriend of a cell phone and vape pen at gunpoint. Tremble then left the apartment, followed by the new boyfriend.

Police spoke with other residents in the apartment who told police they heard Trimble and the new boyfriend arguing and fighting. After the commotion ended, the other residents left the apartment. They told police they saw Tremble and his brother backing up a vehicle near the apartment. They said Tremble went into his ex-‘s now empty apartment and left with multiple items that total almost $2000.

Police say that Trimble ransacked the apartment, damaged the refrigerator and water heater, causing the apartment to flood.

James Trimble III is considered ARMED AND DANGEROUS. If you know of his whereabouts, contact the RCSO (706) 821-1020 or (706) 821-1080.
