    Ossoff, Warnock announce $1.8 million in resources for CSRA veterans facing homelessness

    AUGUSTA, Ga. (WJBF) – U.S. Senators Jon Ossoff and Raphael Warnock announced Tuesday that $31 million in federal funding is headed to Georgia to help veterans find homes and prevent homelessness.

    Allocated to various portions of the state, the funding is being provided through the Department of Veterans’ Affairs (VA) Supportive Services for Veteran Families program to nonprofit organizations across the state helping veterans find housing.

    The CSRA’s $1,864,282 in funds will be given to the Central Savannah River Area Economic Opportunity Authority, Inc . (CSRA EOA) which supports Augusta-Richmond County and the surrounding areas.

    “Our national honor requires that we lift up and support all who have sacrificed in America’s defense,” said Sen. Ossoff in a Aug. 27 press release. “That’s why Senator Warnock and I continue working to end veteran homelessness in Georgia and nationwide.”

    “Our servicemembers and veterans are the best among us, and as a champion for all Georgians in the U.S. Senate, I will continue working to ensure they receive the help they are owed for their service to our nation,” said Sen. Warnock.
