RCSS confirms K9 Officers sweep on Cross Creek High School campus

RICHMOND COUNTY, Ga. (WJBF) – A Richmond County School System spokesperson has confirmed with WJBF that there were K9 Officers sweeping parts of the campus at Cross Creek High School on Wednesday, September 4th.

Administrators say they are working on getting more information in regards to the K9 officer campus sweep.

Earlier this school year, a gun was found and confiscated on the Cross Creek High School campus on Thursday, August 22 ^nd , following a tip that a student may have a gun on campus.

Before that, on Thursday, August 15 ^th , Cross Creek High School staff and a Richmond County School System police officer responded to a fight in the parking lot involving several students. Administrators and RCSS police continued to investigate the incident and determined that one student had a weapon that they did not use during the fight.
