AUGUSTA, Ga. (WJBF) – In May, the Piedmont Augusta Summerville Campus reopened after four years with new units.

It has been 114 days since Piedmont Augusta reopened its Summerville Campus, and so far, it has had a great response from the community.

“It’s been a really good first 100 days. The community has really embraced us and has really shown up to support our hospital and this campus being reopened,” said Nic Wood, the Executive Director Hospital Administrator for Piedmont Augusta Summerville and Mcduffie Campus.

Patients are grateful for the easy access to the campus and quick wait times. Nic Wood, the executive director at Piedmont Augusta Summerville and McDuffie campuses, tells me that opening the campus was not easy but is happy with how it has turned out.

“Easy to find a parking spot. Easy to get in and get out quickly with their services. Not having to navigate really large parking lots or parking decks. So, that been a big patient satisfier. From the time you walk into the time leave were doing that right at a two-hour time mark right now,” said Wood.

Along with the new emergency unit, in-patient unit, and updated radiology department, the Summerville campus is adding more services, such as its MRI, which opens this month, sleep services, and an in-patient hospice care shooting to begin in October.

“The team has continued to grow, and bond, and create that family environment that we were really aiming to develop here. We really wanted to create that Piedmont Culture and patient center care,” said Wood.

The campus is only going to continue to grow and focus on the patient experience.
