Homicide investigation underway in Richmond County

Augusta, Ga. (WJBF) – The Richmond County Sheriff’s Office is currently at the scene of a homicide that occurred early Saturday morning on the 500 block of Hines Street.

Upon arrival, deputies located a deceased female who had been shot at least one time and investigators have detained a subject.

According to the Richmond County Coroner’s Office, the victim identified as 27-year-old Laquana Lang, was shot inside the residence and pronounced dead at 11:06 a.m.

An autopsy has been scheduled.

No further information will be released at this time due to the active investigation.
