GBI investigating Lincoln Co. commissioner

LINCOLN Co., Ga. (WJBF) – A Lincoln County commissioner and businessman is under investigation.

The Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) tells NewsChannel 6 that Cooper Cliatt is being investigated, but they can not release any additional details.

The Chair of the Lincoln County Commission, Norman Walker, released the following statement,

“I am only hearing the same thing everyone else is hearing about the investigation of Commissioner Cliatt. My prayers are that he is innocent of the allegations made against him. Commissioner Cliatt has served Lincoln County as a district commissioner for 16-years and has been a dedicated and effective member of this board.”
