AUGUSTA, Ga. (WJBF) – Two of the three victims killed in an August crash on Deans Bridge Road have been identified.

Richmond County Coroner Mark Bowen, says 15-year-old Barry Fields Jr. from Augusta was the front seat passenger and his brother, 13-year-old Casey Fields from Augusta was the backseat passenger.

Authorities say they are still waiting on the DNA to positively identify the driver.

On Friday, August 16th, a Blythe Police Officer attempted a traffic stop on a Mercury Sable for speeding at 7:53 p.m. The driver of the Sable then fled, initiating a chase.

The suspect vehicle crossed into oncoming traffic near the intersection with Bath Edie Road. After traveling on the wrong side of the road for one mile, the driver hit another vehicle, head on, just north of Etterlee Road.

The car then caught fire and was engulfed in flames.
