AUGUSTA, GA (WJBF) – Baseball historian Lamar Garrard has put together an exhibit for the Augusta Public Library. The theme of the exhibit is “World Series players who also played in Augusta” and it is currently on display in the Georgia Heritage Room.

WJBF spoke with Garrard about the opportunity he has presented for baseball fans to learn about Augusta sports history, and what he hopes people take away from the exhibit. “It’s an opportunity to let the public see a little bit of baseball history and especially those exhibits that kind of highlight Augusta which this one is. This is highlighting Augusta players who played here and went on and played in a World Series. Most of those players were on winning team, so that’s why I do it.” Says Lamar Garrard, “I think it’s good to get the public involved, it’s kind of an informative time. I can give a talk and tell [all] about the display, so I really enjoy doing it and it’s a good thing.”

All of the memorabilia is on display now, and the public library will house the exhibit through the end of November.
