GEMA recommends ALL Georgia schools close Friday due to Hurricane Helene

GEORGIA (WJBF) – Due to the impacts of Hurricane Helene, the Georgia Emergency Management and Homeland Security (GEMA/HS) recommends that ALL schools (public and private) south of Macon consider early dismissal today, Thursday, September 26, 2024.

They also recommend the closure of ALL schools (public and private) throughout the State for Friday, September 27, 2024.

The agency asks Georgia educators to please stay informed and prioritize safety.
