    Jefferson Co. Sheriff issues curfew starting at 9 P.M.

    JEFFERSON COUNTY, Ga. (WJBF) – A curfew has been instated for Jefferson County residents during this severe weather.

    According to the letter that was sent out by Jefferson County Sheriff Gary Hutchins, acting under the State of Emergency, which was declared by Governor Brian Kemp, a curfew for Jefferson County has been issued from September 26th at 9 P.M. to September 27th at 12 P.M.

    According to the letter, it shall be unlawful for any person to travel, loiter, wander, or stroll in or upon the public streets, highways, roads, lanes, parks or other public grounds, public places, public buildings, places of amusement, eating places, vacant lots or any other place within Jefferson County. Should medical or family emergencies occur during curfew hours, travel is permitted during which you should be alert, oriented, and use due regard on the roadway.
