AUGUSTA-RICHMOND COUNTY, Ga. (WJBF) – Mayor Garnett L. Johnson and Augusta-Richmond County has issued a curfew that goes into effect at 10 PM on Friday, September 27. All bars and places of amusement must close at 10 PM and remain closed through 6 AM on Saturday.

Administrators say the curfew will be enforced by the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office from 7 PM through 7 AM until further notice.

Administrators say this is out of an abundance of caution and due to hazardous road conditions.

Why is a curfew needed? We just had a major HURRICANE@!!! Nothing is opened. There's no electricity . The restaurants are closed. Fallen trees, electrical wires everywhere. The mayor is tripping 🤣. Then again, criminals will take advantage of any situation.
