    Augusta Fire/EMA, city officials hold presser on Helene recovery

    AUGUSTA (WJBF) – Augusta Fire/EMA, in collaboration with the City of Augusta, are providing an update on the post-storm recovery efforts following Hurricane Helene.

    Key topics include the current status of recovery operations, safety updates for residents, and information on ongoing community resources and assistance.

    Key points:

    • 7pm to 7am curfew and shelter in place enforced by RCSO and City of Augusta
    • Henry Brigham & May Park will be providing shelter and supplies while they last
    • AU will be closed Monday and Tuesday, Sodexo is providing food services for students still on campus. They do have facilities across campus that are open for Students
    • Two fire stations will be providing water and beverages from Ironman while they last – #2 located at 928 Telfair Street and Station 20 on Old Hwy 1
      • Fire station#2 –
        • 1 Case of Water Bottles per Car while supplies last
        • WHEN BOTTLES RUN OUT THEN
        • 3 gallons of water per car while supplies last
        • Coke and Diet Coke cans available as well while supplies last
