    Jury trials postponed

    AUGUSTA, Ga. (WJBF) – The District Attorney’s Office has been closed and jury trials have been postponed.

    According to the District Attorney Jared T. Williams, jurors summoned for the week of September 30th are released from the summons and are NOT to report to the courthouse.

    D.A. Williams states that jury trials have been postponed for this week and will reset at a later late.

    D.A. Williams adds that ALL court proceedings are postponed for Monday and Tuesday, not just for jury trials, but for all court hearings.

    Additionally, the Judicial Emergency Order that has the effect of extending all filing deadlines that would have expired from September 27, 2024, until after the expiration of the emergency period – October 1, 2024 – unless further extended.
