AUGUSTA, Ga. (WJBF) – Food banks that are normally ready to help in times of need are feeling the pressure

This morning Amazon delivered generators and other resources to Golden Harvest Food Bank.

Feeding America, Feeding Georgia and Feeding The Carolinas have also sent in extra staff members and supplies so the community can start getting their needs met.

“We don’t have staff to help us do this. So we’re really praying up the volunteers that are willing to come forward. We know that the challenges are just great for people to even get out of their homes to come and assist,” said Amy Breitmann, CEO, Golden Harvest Food Bank.

‘The Masters Table’ Soup Kitchen on Fenwick Street is closed right now.

Plans are in the works on how they can reopen as quickly as possible.
