One dead after crash in Edgefield County

EDGEFIELD COUNTY, S.C. (WJBF) – According to South Carolina Highway Patrol, one person has died after a crash in Edgefield County on Tuesday.

Master Trooper Mitchell Ridgeway confirmed the driver of a 1972 Chevrolet sedan traveling south on West Five Notch Road at approximately 8:02 p.m. veered off the road and struck a tree.

The driver was pronounced deceased at the scene.

South Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating the collision.
