CSRA (WJBF) – Outage maps for Georgia Power show several areas have a change in “Estimated Restoration Dates”, meaning it could take longer before some in the CSRA have power again.

Concerning the delay, a press release from Georgia Power states:

“As our crews are working around the clock to restore service for our customers, they are uncovering additional details that require more time and effort to address – including new damage in previously inaccessible areas. Due to this, we may need to continue adjusting estimated restoration times (ERTs) for some of the hardest hit areas. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and appreciate your understanding as we work around the clock to restore services as quickly as possible.”

According to Commissioner Sean Frantom, Georgia Power is bringing in an additional 1,000 workers to help restore power, bringing the total to 9,000 crew members.

Customers are asked to monitor the Georgia Power Outage Map for the latest information about restoration times.
