AUGUSTA, Ga. (WJBF) – The City of Augusta and FPL Foods are joining together to distribute 78,000 pounds of ground beef patties to the community, the office of Mayor Garnett Johnson announced Thursday.

“During times of crisis, it’s crucial for businesses to step up and support their communities,” said FPL Food’s CEO Francois Leger. “We are honored to play a role in helping our neighbors recover and rebuild after Hurricane Helene. We hope this donation brings some comfort and nourishment to those who have been affected.”

According to an Oct. 3 press release, FPL Food will be donating 8,000 boxes of ground beef patties. Each burger is a half pound, and there are 20 burgers per box.
