As Sheriff, my focus is keeping everyone in Washington County safe, including those in Washington State Prison. That’s why my team is working closely with the Department of Corrections and other law enforcement to prevent contraband from entering the prison.

Contraband, like drugs and weapons, is a real danger, not just for inmates but also for the staff who work there. These illegal items threaten the security of the prison and put lives at risk. This isn’t just about punishment—it’s about keeping people safe. By stopping these dangerous items, we protect the inmates, the staff, and the people of Washington County.

Our community needs to know that we’re doing everything possible to keep everyone safe inside and outside the prison. My office will keep working hard, strengthening partnerships, and improving our methods to stop the flow of contraband and keep things secure.

I want to thank the Department of Corrections, our staff, and all our partners for their commitment to this effort. Together, we can ensure everyone’s safety.
