    Richmond County polling location change due to Helene damage

    AUGUSTA, Ga. (WJBF) – During Wednesday’s meeting of the Augusta-Richmond County Board of Elections, members voted for a temporary voting location change for Precinct 201 from The Building Worship Center at 2240 Bayvale Road, to the J. Hebbard Club location of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Augusta located at 2241 Wheeless Road in South Augusta.

    The J. Hebbard Boys & Girls Club off Wheeless is less than a mile from the former polling location for Precinct 201.

    The Building Worship Center at 2240 Bayvale Road suffered significant damage due to Hurricane Helene and will be unavailable as a voting location for the November 5th election.

    According to Board of Elections Executive Director Travis Doss, the board voted to change the polling location the Boys and Girls Clubs of Greater Augusta location off Wheeless for this election only and will only be used as an alternative location for November 5th.
