AUGUSTA, GA (WJBF)- The Academy of Richmond County volleyball team hosted Westside for the first round of playoffs, and honored four of their players on senior night.

ARC took the first 2 sets, and we pick it up in the final set.

Leading 20-11, Maya Victor aces it and the Musketeers extend their lead

Then leading 22-12 Sadie Trulock sets it up for Tamzin Marker, and Westside can’t handle it and the Musketeers are 2 points away from the win.

At the net, it’s Marker again and it’s match point ARC.

Finally leading 24-13, it’s Marker once again. ARC wins in straight sets to advance to the second round of playoffs.

Afterwards, the seniors were honored with special plaques and volleyballs. Head coach David Bradberry spoke about the seniors, and what the girls will have to do in the next round of playoffs to secure a victory.

“Our seniors are wonderful, we have one senior who’s a starter and the other three are role players. I can’t say enough, senior night is always a great night. They’re going to be motivated,” Bradberry said.

“We’ve gotten knocked out the last two years in the second round by private schools. Maybe that will give us a little bit of an edge? I don’t know, there’s really no telling. Once you get to the second round it doesn’t matter where you’re ranked, all the teams are good. So, we’re going to have to bring it on Saturday no matter who we’re playing.”
