HAWKINS COUNTY, Tenn. (WJHL) — Vulcan Thermal, a heat treatment company from Pennsylvania, will invest $5 million in a new facility in Hawkins County, creating 30 new jobs.

Tennessee Gov. Bill Lee, Department of Economic and Community Development Commissioner Stuart C. McWhorter and Vulcan Thermal officials announced on Wednesday the company will invest $5 million in a new facility at 390 Phipps Bend Road in Surgoinsville.

The expansion will create approximately 30 new jobs in tier 4, at-risk Hawkins County and position the heat treatment company near a growing industry, a release stated.

“Vulcan Thermal will be a great addition to the Phipps Bend Industrial Park in Hawkins County,” Hawkins County Mayor Mark DeWitte said in a release. “The Hawkins County Industrial Development Board has worked tirelessly to bring them into the park and are to be commended for this win and several others they have in the works. Bringing jobs to the county is a top priority, and slowly but surely, we’re making it happen. I look forward to their official opening and to see how Vulcan Thermal and Symmco work hand in hand to make another quality Hawkins County product.”

Vulcan Thermal, a subsidiary of EHT, Inc., will provide heat-treating services to the metal industry. EHT also provides heat treatment, steam treatment, vibratory finishing, inspection, packaging and related services to automotive and agricultural suppliers, according to a release.

“What happens in rural Tennessee matters to all Tennesseans,” Governor Bill Lee said in a release. “I thank Vulcan Thermal for bringing nearly thirty new, high-quality jobs and creating greater opportunity for families in Hawkins County.”
