JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (WJHL) – A local fitness center is calling on the Tri-Cities’ best power-lifters to test their strength for a good cause.

The Club Fitness Center in Johnson City is hosting a Dead Lift-A-Thon this weekend. The unique fundraiser works by having a power-lifter lift as much weight as possible with a sponsor pledging a certain amount of money per pound.

The proceeds then go to the local Boys and Girls Club and the Wounded Warrior Project.

The Club’s Chase Bruce and Pilar Berchot joined Good Morning Tri-Cities with all the details on how lifters and non-lifters can enjoy the event this weekend.

For those not lifting, you can still come out and enjoy a cook-out, live DJ and door prizes. The event is open to non-members as well.

Dead Lift-A-Thon is happening on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. You can find The Club at 316 Marketplace Boulevard.
