    Missing man found dead in Carter County

    ELIZABETHTON, Tenn. (WJHL) — Carter County Sheriff’s deputies found the remains of a missing person in the Valley Forge area.

    Timothy Waycaster, 51, was reported missing around 10 p.m. Saturday evening. According to a press release from the sheriff’s office, Waycaster had left to go on an ATV ride and had not returned.

    “All evidence appears he was involved in an ATV accident,” Sheriff Mike Fraley said.

    Carter County Sheriff’s Office investigators and the Carter County Coroner responded to the scene, along with the Carter County Rescue Squad’s Technical Rescue team.

    An investigation into the incident is ongoing.
