ELIZABETHTON, Tenn. (WJHL) — A public information meeting regarding a new façade rehabilitation grant in Elizabethton was held Monday evening.

Applications for the new grant program opened on Monday.

The program aims to improve building exteriors in the Main Street district.

The grant requires property owners to contribute a minimum of 50% of the total project cost.

“We’ve had folks use this to paint their buildings, to fix bricks that are deteriorating, masonry that’s deteriorating on their buildings,” Assistant City Manager Logan Engle said. “So we’ve had a lot of different types of projects over the five years that we’ve had this program.”

Applications will be accepted until Sept. 26.

For more information or to obtain an application, contact Engle at 423-542-1503 or lengle@cityofelizabethton.org .
